Greater Hobart Committee

2050 Vision for Greater Hobart

Our Vision

We will live in the world’s best small capital city; a city built for people that is connected, friendly and safe.

Greater Hobart is thriving and an inspiring place to live, where we all work together to make a positive contribution to our extraordinary environment.

Shaping our shared vision for Greater Hobart

The Greater Hobart Councils – Clarence, Glenorchy, Hobart and Kingborough – and the Tasmanian Government worked together as part of the Greater Hobart Committee to develop a Vision for Greater Hobart to 2050.

The Vision aims to reflect not only the varied and individual nature of the four communities that make up Greater Hobart, but also to celebrate what brings our communities together.

A draft Vision was open for public consultation in late March/April 2021 but if you have feedback we would still like to hear from you.

What makes Greater Hobart the place it is, what do you love about your community, what should our future look like, and importantly, does the Vision cover your expectations of your capital city in 2050?

The Vision can be found here.

For a summary, you can view the Vision on a page here.
